Grant Programs

Arts + Culture Grants

Guidelines

Lake County, OH, awards grants to various community organizations each year. Our goal is to support events and programs focused on culture, history, and the fine and performing arts that also positively impact the travel and tourism industry in Lake County.

Applicants must be an entity incorporated in Lake County with a minimum one-year history of providing public programs or activities specifically related to arts and cultural heritage. The event must also be verified to increase tourism and overnight stays outside Lake County.

Arts & Culture Grant Application

Please click on the button below to begin the online grant application process. All applications are due no later than the close of business on March 15, 2024, to be considered for a 2024 grant. Early submission will ensure we can verify that all needed documentation has been received in ample time before making a decision on each application. For the time being, all grants that are selected will be awarded after each event takes place.

The Lake County Visitors Bureau has established a Community Events Grant fund for events that fit the Arts & Culture criteria but do not generate significant overnight room nights. Grants ranging from $100 to $1,000 will be awarded from this fund.

Capital Improvement Grant

The Capital Improvement Grant Program is a tourism-focused program designed to assist with funding for capital tourism development projects that will help attract more overnight guests to Lake County. Capital projects must be located within Lake County, Ohio and serve to establish a new facility or improve an existing facility or infrastructure. All projects approved for funding must prove that the project will be responsible for attracting overnight visitors to the County. Eligibility is open to municipalities in the County representing a tourist attraction or any publicly-owned or nonprofit-run attraction, lodging facility or other business that can demonstrate travel and tourism promotion to Lake County among its primary activities. Projects with the greatest potential for positive economic impact for overnight tourism in Lake County will receive primary consideration.
