Book Talk with Grandma Joy and Brad Ryan at the James A. Garfield Historic Site
Mentor, Ohio — The James A. Garfield National Historic Site invites the public to a free book talk featuring Brad Ryan and his grandmother, “Grandma Joy,” at 7 p.m. on Oct. 9. They will share stories from their seven years traveling through America’s 63 national parks, offering insights into their travels and the intergenerational healing they experience along the way.
Brad Ryan is a veterinarian, wildlife conservationist, and writer from southeast Ohio. Brad will outline the travels he has made with his 96-year-old grandmother. The pair’s goal was to visit every national park in the country. An unintended benefit of their time together has been intergenerational healing, wherein a grandmother and grandson find themselves released from the injustices that long held them hostage. After the presentation, Brad and Grandma Joy will sign copies of their book, available for purchase the evening of the event.
This event will take place in the visitor center auditorium, 8095 Mentor Avenue in Mentor, Ohio. Seating is limited. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. No reservations are needed.
