Fairport Harbor Arts and Culture Alliance is getting ready to present its next outdoor musical festival.

Jam by the Sand — Rock Through the Eras will take place from 1 to 10 p.m. Aug. 9. Five groups will play at the Lighthouse Amphitheater, which is located just north of the Fairport Harbor Marine Museum and Lighthouse at 129 Second St.

Admission is free, and spectators are invited to bring lawn chairs or blankets for seating.

Food trucks and trailers that will be on site at Jam by the Sand will include Cheesy Dave’s, Rabbit Food, D & M’s Grille, Tidy Whitey’s Concession and Grateful Grub by Normandy Catering.

Jam by the Sand is described in an alliance news release as “a journey through rock history, with performances spanning the decades.” Songs will range from the 1970s through today.

The festival will kick off with three bands playing classic rock favorites, followed by two groups performing original music. Here is the lineup, along with show times:

• 1 p.m. — EndRock

• 2:30 p.m. — Pawn

• 4 p.m. — Big in Japan

• 5:30 p.m. — The Jaded Lips. This trio from Altoona, Pennsylvania, “invoke shades of classic and modern rock, garage, blues and R&B,” according to their website. Their debut album “Lip Service” was released in 2023.

• 8 p.m. — The Vindys. Hailing from Youngstown, this band has opened for prominent musical acts such as Pat Benatar and ZZ Top.

In 2023, the group’s music video for the title track of its 2021 album “Bugs” was shown at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York City. Their song “Are You Ready” also was featured in ESPN commercials.

Jam by the Sand is the second and final scheduled show in the alliance’s 2025 Live at the Lighthouse concert series. The season opener — Reggae in the Harbor — was held on July 12.

This year, the alliance also is sponsoring its second annual Gazebo Concert Series. These festivals are based at the gazebo in Fairport Harbor’s Memorial Park, located on Third Street between Eagle and Plum streets.

The 2025 Gazebo Concert Series finale is from noon to 7 p.m. Aug. 31. That’s when the alliance presents Harboritaville, a musical tribute to Jimmy Buffett.

Folk and Country Fest, held May 31, was the initial show in this year’s Gazebo Concert Series.

The Fairport Harbor Arts and Culture Alliance is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the support and growth of the arts and culture community in Fairport Harbor.
