The Fairport Harbor Arts & Culture Alliance recently announced details for the third annual Port Plunge in Fairport Harbor.
The “plunge” in Lake Erie is a way to usher in the New Year as it will be held on Jan. 1 at the Lake Metroparks Fairport Harbor Lakefront Park.
“This event has seen tremendous growth with over 200 enthusiastic participants in 2025,” Alliance co-chair Justin Levine stated in a news release. “We’re anticipating that number to grow once again this year due to new partnerships with other local organizations.
Levine added that any other organizations that wish to become a partner can reach out to info@fhaca.org.
Plunge time is noon. Registration and waiver is required for the event, and the the registration fee is $25 and $30 with an event t-shirt. The event t-shirt option is available until approximately a week prior to the event, according to the release.
The registration fee enables having the local Fairport Harbor EMS on site and in the water for participant safety.
Those interested can register at runsignup.com. Check-in and day of registrations starts at 11:15 a.m. at the west pavilion at the park. Local Fairport Harbor eateries Julbean’s Coffee and Crepes and Regos Brickhouse Pizza will be providing hot chocolate/coffee and pizza to plunge participants.
Proceeds from the Port Plunge registrants go directly toward supporting the free Fairport Harbor Music and Arts Series and the Fairport Harbor School District, the release stated. Donations can be made at www.fhaca.org.
People also can follow along on social media and RSVP to events via Facebook for updates on the Port Plunge and the 2026 Music and Art Series including concert dates, bands, show times, parking, food trucks, and vendor maps.
