Welcome yourself back into nature this weekend with sandy shores, stargazing, and the cutest highland cows you’ve ever seen. The fresh summer air is calling!
Mentor Headlands Beach
Let the waves wash your worries away as you begin your morning by catching the beautiful sunrise at Headlands Beach State Park. Naturally energize yourself with a cool swim in Lake Erie and a slow stroll over to the historic Fairport Harbor West Breakwater Lighthouse.
Take the rest of the morning to explore the Lake Metroparks Lakeshore Reservation. This lakeside walk will quietly introduce you to the calming nature of the waves and local wildlife.

Optional Addition: If you’re not ready to end the nature-filled fun, Penitentiary Glen Reservation will offer the perfect end to the day. Travel down 100 feet to the cascading gorge and get lost in the trees. Not literally 😉
As the sun sets, find your way back to Standing Rock Farm. End the night by stargazing near a cozy fire and hanging out at the farm - don’t forget to say goodnight to the cows!

Take the rest of the afternoon to put your feet up and slow down at Grand River Cellars. Try one of their new summer cocktails and delicious entrees!
Wrap up the winery tour with Fossil Creek Winery & Vineyard. Between the quiet creekside and picture-perfect golden hour, this is the perfect place to end the day.
