23rd Annual Grand River Valley Ice Wine Festival

Madison, Ohio (March 2026) — The Grand River Valley Wine Region invites wine lovers to celebrate the 23rd Annual Ice Wine Festival, taking place throughout the month of March. Participating wineries showcase true ice wines—crafted from grapes left on the vine until winter temperatures drop below 17 degrees, then harvested and pressed while frozen to create richly concentrated wines.

This year’s festival features six wineries offering ice wine tastings and one distillery debuting a signature ice wine cocktail. Many locations have also expanded their menus to include specialty cocktails created exclusively for the festival. Guests can explore a wide range of unique ice wine expressions, including habanero, maple, cherry bourbon, espresso, and bourbon barrel–aged ice wines.

The Ice Wine Festival runs daily in March, with tastings available from noon to 5 p.m. (hours vary by location). Participating businesses include Debonné Vineyards, Grand River Cellars Winery & Restaurant, Laurello Vineyards, Cask 307 Winery, South River Vineyards, Ferrante Winery & Ristorante, and Red Eagle Distillery. All locations are within a 10-minute drive, allowing guests to enjoy the trail at a relaxed pace.

This year’s theme, Stay & Play, highlights a full calendar of winery events such as live music, music bingo, opera night, specialty tastings and dinners and Sunday brunches. Area hotels also offer overnight packages with special midweek rates.

Each stop includes an ice wine sample, a commemorative glass, and a complimentary appetizer for $10 per person. A $5 designated driver ticket is available and includes a non-alcoholic beverage and appetizer.
