The Adventures of Sam and Grace—The Finale
Sam and Grace Adventure to The Mentor Marsh
Hi Everyone! 👋
Welcome back to the Adventures of Sam and Grace! If you haven’t heard about all our other adventures yet, no worries, you can find them here and here. We’ve been keeping busy touring around Lake County these past few months. Our days have been filled with lots of laughs, good eats, and camera rolls filled with hundreds of photos and videos. Now, it’s time to head back to school, so we wanted to make one more article. Thank you to everyone who followed our journey - it was a blast!
This Week’s Adventures Were…
Getting a Taste of Downtown Willoughby
Downtown Willoughby has over 20 unique and delicious restaurants all within a few minutes-walk from each other, making it the perfect destination for any occasion. Start your morning with freshly baked treats, then spend the afternoon strolling along the charming downtown strip and exploring local shops and boutiques. As the day winds down, enjoy dinner and drinks on a welcoming patio. There’s something to savor around every corner!
Our Favorite Spots
Sam | Young’s Sushi
Nothing compares to a nice dinner on the patio in summer. Young’s Sushi was by far my favorite spot of the day. The potstickers were the perfect start to our meal and the rainbow roll was both beautifully presented and delicious. We shared a plate of salmon sashimi to end our meal. With so many unique sushi rolls on the menu, I can’t wait to go back and try something new!
Grace | Michael’s Bakeshop
As someone who always has a sweet tooth, this was hands down my favorite spot of the day. The chocolate chip cookie was warm and gooey, the brownie was perfectly fudgy, and the cinnamon roll was soft and sweet. I cannot wait to go back and try some of the other sweet creations!
We Saved a Seat for You
Hear Our Stories and Share Yours!
Sometimes the best part of a getaway is the moment you finally sit down and take it all in. Adirondack chairs are waiting at scenic spots, local favorites, and places made for lingering a little longer. Whether you’re planning a weekend getaway in Northeast Ohio or your next one-tank trip, there’s a seat with your name on it.
Sam and Grace Adventure to Wes Point Park
Wes Point Park
4232 River St, Willoughby, OH 44094
“I love coming out to Downtown Willoughby and seeing all the little shops and tasting the amazing food. And now it's part of my job to explore this super unique street! Sam and I have been all over and have met some really amazing business owners - we're so excited to come back! ☺️” - Grace York
Sam and Grace Adventure to The Holden Arboretum
The Holden Arboretum
9550 Sperry Rd, Kirtland, OH 44094
“My first visit to The Holden Arboretum was quite memorable. Summer is the perfect time to experience the blooming flowers and watch pollinators busy at work. With good company, it’s easy to spend hours wandering the trails and appreciating the beauty of nature. After checking out the Woven Landscapes exhibit, we relaxed in the yellow chairs overlooking the pond. This peaceful spot was perfect to cool off before making the hike back to the car. It was a great day spent outdoors, and I’m already looking forward to my next visit!” - Sam Alexander
Unionville Tavern
23 S State St, Painesville, OH 44077
The Unionville Tavern, previously dubbed The Old Tavern, has a rich and fascinating history. It has seen many days, from its inception in 1798, being renovated countless times over, and even being a part of the Underground Railroad. Although the Tavern has been closed to the public since 2006, preservation and restoration efforts continue to revitalize this community landmark.
Signing off for the Summer!
Sam’s Spot of the Week
After an afternoon of shopping while wandering through Downtown Willoughby, Fiona’s provided a much needed break from the sunny streets. A staple in the community, this cafe offers delicious bagel sandwiches, mini donuts, and a wide variety of espresso based drinks. Stop inside and cool off with a flavored lemonade or try a monthly special—you won’t be disappointed.
Grace’s Spot of the Week
Grabbing content at Blank Boutique this week was such a fun experience! I loved hearing about the new fall collection and showcasing the pieces and brands that make this boutique stand out. If you’re into the newest looks, you’ll love the collection here!
