The team at Birdie Kings Bar and Grill is looking to give visitors a new place to gather in Concord Township.

Vanessa Bilyk and Tommy Clifford opened the new restaurant on July 31 at 8003 Crile Road. It features a bar, indoor dining area and outdoor patio, and people can meet there to eat with loved ones, watch a game on television, enjoy live entertainment and more.

Clifford described Birdie Kings as a “family-oriented sports bar.” It offers comfort foods like pizza, subs, salads, chicken wings and pretzels.

One of the restaurant’s early best sellers has been its pickle pizza. According to chef Eric Osborne, the pie includes garlic, white cheese sauce, pickles, bacon and a jalapeno ranch drizzle.

Bilyk added that the pizza options can be ordered as pizzas or flatbreads. A gluten-free crust is also available. Sandwich options Osborne highlighted include the Hole-in-One Italian sandwich and the Cuban sandwich. The restaurant also offers wings that are smoked and baked instead of fried.

“We’re just trying to be a place where people can gather after their kid’s sporting events or after a high school football game or after a golf outing and have some decent food at a fair price,” Clifford said.

Bilyk said that Birdie Kings also offers a full-service bar with drinks including “classic golf cocktails” and martinis. She wants to be able to offer “pretty much anything” and recreate drinks that customers have had at other places.

Clifford added that the bar has 50 draft beer lines. Gathering space

Clifford and Bilyk also aim to offer opportunities for the community to gather. Both of them live in the community and have raised children there.

Clifford said the bar will offer Golden Tee Golf events, “Sunday Fundays” for pre-games during football season and specials for Ohio State football games. It will also offer playoff specials for the Guardians if they make the postseason.

Birdie Kings also has live music nights scheduled. A list of upcoming shows can be found at birdie-kings.com/events.

The restaurant has space to host banquets and events, Clifford said. Anyone interested in having an event at Birdie Kings can email sales@birdie-kings.com or call 440-296-7100, though he said email is the best way to reach the restaurant.

They also want Birdie Kings to be a place where visitors can come at night. Clifford said the restaurant will offer pizza by the slice on Friday and Saturday nights after the kitchen closes at 10 p.m.

“I think late night is something that kind of went away with COVID, and it’s something that I enjoy, and I think that there is still a market for that,” Bilyk said. “There’s still some people that like to get out a little later at night and enjoy themselves, and we hope to kind of be that place, where you can just linger a little longer.”

She aims to offer an “inviting atmosphere.”

“Whether you’re getting off of work, on a date, you’ve got a family function, we just want everybody to feel welcome to come in and join us and enjoy themselves,” Bilyk said. “We want to create a really nice environment.”
