Upcoming Old-Fashioned Picnic hosted by Lake Metroparks

Lake Metroparks invites you to its annual Old-Fashioned Picnic on Thursday, August 21 at Painesville Township Park. Celebrate the final days of summer with an evening of food, games and time with friends, family and neighbors.

This family-friendly tradition features archery, kite making, backyard games, bingo with prizes and more. It is also a great opportunity to explore the many improvements recently completed at Painesville Township Park by strolling along the first phase of the Lakefront Trail or through the new meadow. Guests can also fish off the pier or relax in the park while taking in beautiful views of Lake Erie.

“There is something special about gathering at the park as summer winds down,” says Lake Metroparks Outdoor Education Specialist Alexis Reed. “It is about bringing people together, enjoying each other’s company and making the most of this beautiful lakefront park.”

Free snacks and beverages including hot dogs, popcorn, punch and choice of cookie or ice pop will be available. Guests are also welcome to bring their own picnics and chairs or blankets for comfortable outdoor seating around the park.

Old-Fashioned Picnic is free to attend, but pre-registration is required. For event details and to register, visit https://goto.lakemetroparks.com/old-fashioned-picnic.

Painesville Township Park is located at 1025 Hardy Road in Painesville Township (44077).
