Stars & Stripes event in Fairport Harbor to celebrate America’s birthday

As part of its Summer Reading Adventures Summer Family Fun Series, Fairport Harbor Schools together with the Fairport Harbor Public Library will host “Stars & Stripes – Happy Birthday America!”

The communitywide celebration will feature family-friendly activities, costumed storytellers from the Lake County Historical Society who will talk about the American flag, a writing activity for elementary children, and refreshments, according to a news release.

The event will be from 4 to 5 p.m. June 24 in the Fairport Harbor Schools Cafetorium. Participants are encouraged to wear red, white, and blue.

The event is free and open to the general public, but registration is required. To register go to the Fairport Harbor Public Library website events calendar: Children ages birth to fifth grade must be accompanied by a trusted chaperone.
