July 4th Events & Activities


Celebrate Independence Day with Lake County Ohio fireworks, patriotic parades, waterfront festivals, and family-friendly fun.

Whether you're planning a beach day along Lake Erie or searching for the best July 4th near Cleveland, these summer traditions light up the holiday weekend across the county.

  • All are invited to Opening Night at Painesville City’s Grand Amphitheater on Wednesday, July 1. A ribbon cutting will be held at 5:30 p.m., followed by a concert by Fleetwood Mac tribute band Rumours at 6 p.m., with fireworks at dusk. Learn More

  • A grand parade through the music and moments that define our nation-featuring the songs of Bernstein, Irving Berlin, and more at Cask 307 Winery. Learn More


  • The City of Mentor will unveil a statue of James A. Garfield at the Mentor Municipal Center on Friday, July 3, 2026, at 6:00 PM.

    The slightly larger-than-life figure is being designed and built by renowned artist Alan Cottrill whose body of work includes over 400 pieces including that of Thomas Edison in Statuary Hall at the US Capitol Building.

    Following the unveiling ceremony, the community is invited to a free picnic on the grounds of the Mentor Civic Amphitheater. The evening will feature a variety of family-friendly activities.

    The City will serve free hot dogs, chips, soft drinks, and ice cream sandwiches. Outside food is also welcome. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs for comfortable lawn seating.

    Additional activities will include:

    • The 1776 Yard Race, open to runners and walkers of all abilities

    • Games and activities for all ages

    • Opportunities to view and interact with vintage military vehicles and their owners

    • Screenings of clips from the “What America Means to Me” community video project, along with a behind-the-scenes video showcasing the design and construction of the Garfield statue

    All are welcome to attend this historic community event.

  • Don’t miss this incredible Independence Day celebration! If you love The Eagles, then welcome to the Hotel California – you’ve just found the next-best thing.

    The concert will be followed by the LARGEST fireworks display in Mentor’s history as we celebrate America250!

    Mentor Rocks is a FREE all-ages event which promotes a festival-like atmosphere each week. In addition to great music, attendees can enjoy a great selection of food from area vendors as well as an assortment of beers and wines. Food and beverage service starts at 5:00 PM.

    The venue features lawn seating, so bring your own blankets or chairs. Outside food and non-alcoholic beverages are permitted. No outside alcohol, glass containers, food deliveries, or pets on main amphitheater grounds.

  • The event will take place on the campuses of Andrews Osborne Academy and the Fine Arts Association, offering a welcoming setting for an evening of music, celebration, and community pride.

  • Celebrate America’s Birthday & Make History in Willowick! In honor of America’s 200th Anniversary, Willowick residents buried a time capsule to be opened on our nation’s 250th! Join us on Saturday, July 4th, from 11:00am to 2:00pm at Dudley Park for a day of fun activities and family-friendly celebrations. Be there to witness the opening of Willowick’s historic time capsule and participate in filling the next capsule—a treasure to be opened 50 years from now! Don’t miss this chance to be part of Willowick history! In celebration of America’s 250th Anniversary, residents are invited to fill out a letter to the future to be buried in the time capsule to be opened in 2076! Letter templates are available at Willowick City Hall, Willowick Senior Center, & the Activities Center at Manry Park and must be returned at the time capsule opening event on Saturday, July 4 at Dudley Park during the event. Introducing Lake County’s America 250 Bobblehead - Frances Jennings Casement

After an incredible response from across Lake County, Frances Jennings Casement has been selected as the featured figure for the America 250 commemorative bobblehead. Recognized for her lasting impact on both our region and the nation, her legacy will be celebrated as part of this historic milestone.

HOW TO GET YOURS:

📅Saturday, August 1, 2026 | 12 PM

❤️🤍💙America 250 Day at the Lake County Fair

❤️Free bobbleheads starting at noon, while supplies last in the Historic Log Cabin at the America 250 table.

🤍The first 1,000 people with paid or sponsor admission to the fair.

💙Revolutionary Era attire throughout the day on the fairgrounds.
