This popular event is the perfect way to enjoy the cold months of January and February, offering a fun and festive experience for all.

Experience something new this winter with the whole family and go snowshoeing at one of the four locations right here in Lake County! Lake Metroparks offers visitors opportunities to snowshoe on a variety of terrain throughout the park district. Girdled Road Reservation offers backcountry snowshoe trails, Chapin Forest Reservation offers nearly six miles of trails and Penitentiary Glen Reservation offers seven miles of trails.
Pro Tip: Snowshoe rentals are available at Chapin Forest Reservation Pine Lodge Ski Center (first-come, first-served) and at Penitentiary Glen Nature Center (first-come, first-served).
Additionally, Holden Arboretum offers snow-covered trails or fields including Blueberry Pond Loop! Rental rates are based on two hours of use.
