PAINESVILLE, Ohio -- Painesville’s landmark Rider’s Pub 1812 is getting a new name – Joseph’s 1818 Public House & Tavern. Ownership will remain the same, only the name is changing, said owner Leonard William, who has been working at the property since early last year.
The change came about because search engine Google keeps changing the restaurant’s online status to “closed.” And that’s because a previous iteration of the business using that name had been closed. The current restaurant is open and thriving.
William is done fighting with Google and has decided on a name more reflective of the building’s history.
