Commissioners Celebrate Successful 2025 Lake County Fair
PAINESVILLE, Ohio, August 7, 2025– The 170th Lake County Fair, held July 22–27, drew 102,728 attendees. Even amid
record-breaking heat, the fair was a vibrant celebration of community spirit and another remarkable success.
The fair kicked off Tuesday with Veterans Day, offering free admission to all veterans. That evening’s annual Fair Parade featured over 200
entries, led by Ohio Fairs Queen Amberly Szczerbiak of Fayette County and Lake County Fair Queen Leigh-Ann Milo, a recent Riverside High School graduate.
Later that night, Fair Board Director Mike Peplowski of Madison was inducted into the Lake County Fair Hall of Fame, and the Baked Goods Auction broke records, raising over $8,000.
“The Lake County Fair continues to bring our community together for a week of fun, tradition, and celebration,” said Commission President Richard J. Regovich. “From Senior Day to the Demo Derby, this fair had something for everyone. We’re proud to support such a safe, inclusive, and well-run event.” “As Voice of the Fair and a proud supporter of our 4-H youth, I was honored to win the Grand Champion Chickens this year,” said Commissioner John T. Plecnik, who purchased the Grand Champion Chicken Pen raised by Josie Goldy. “The dedication and talent shown by Josie and her fellow participants truly embody the values of Head, Heart, Hands, and Health. I’m grateful to support them and be part of this incredible tradition.” “I’m always proud to support our 4-H kids,” said Commissioner Morris W. Beverage III. “It’s incredibly rewarding to help raise so much money for their hard work and future through the livestock auction. These young people represent the best of Lake County.”
