Speaking of taste, our wine region in northeast Ohio is known for its unique climate and grape-growing acumen, contributing to numerous wineries producing estate-grown, award-winning varietals ranging from dry reds to sweet whites and everything in between!
Shop Local
A girls’ trip to Lake County isn’t complete without visiting the myriad of historic downtowns throughout Lake County, featuring locally-owned shops, restaurants, and coffee shops. Along the shores of Lake Erie is Fairport Harbor, which offers a unique, local shopping experience for visitors with a coffee shop and numerous boutiques peppered throughout the area. While there, take a walk along the beach at Fairport Harbor Lakefront Park, climb the historic Fairport Harbor Lighthouse, and grab an ice cream cone or boozy milkshake from the Fairport Harbor Creamery! Downtown Willoughby (DTW for us locals) is a must-visit as the historic downtown is always decorated for the season and features an assortment of restaurants and breweries mixed with adorable retail shops. It is a perfect spot to spend your afternoon or evening!
Music & Theater
Nearly every weekend from early June through mid-September is filled with unique festivals sure to entertain. Love music festivals? Check out the calendar for WonderStruck in Cleveland 2024, held on the Lakeland Community College campus. This two-day festival, typically held in early July, features an incredible, diverse list of music genres and artists you won’t find anywhere else. Previous acts have included Third Eye Blind, The Lumineers, AJR, 24KGoldn, Coin, Khalid, Chris Lane, Walker Hayes, Flo Rida and Nelly. If you’re looking for a little more laid-back entertainment option, check out an amazing live theater performance at the Fine Arts Association in Willoughby or Rabbit Run Theater. Rabbit Run is one of the few remaining barn theaters in the country, and their summer performances at “The Barn” are top-notch and sure to be one of your favorite memories on your tour of Lake County.
