Lake County Captains - Neil Stein

Lake County Captains

The Lake County Captains were my introduction to Lake County. When I interviewed with the Captains for a full-time job back in 2007, then living in Toledo working with the Toledo Mud Hens, I never knew what that discussion would ultimately lead to for me and my family. I ended up getting the job as Assistant General Manager for the Captains and my young family, which consisted of me, my wife, a three-year old and an 18-month-old, up and moved across the state to Concord Township in Lake County. After a year in Concord we moved to Mentor and decided to build our family and life in Lake County. The Captains were my second family for 12 years before taking the reins at Tour Lake County. I met so many amazing co-workers in my time at the Captains as well as incredible locals and visitors alike who came to the ballpark to relax, enjoy a ballgame and escape the stresses and hustle and bustle of their everyday lives. Many of my co-workers and interns who came to work for the Captains from across the country eventually settled down in Lake County and there are numerous stories of interns or staffers who got married after meeting at the Captains! The Captains' ballpark in Eastlake is an amazing place on a gameday where fans can come to relax, put aside their differences for a few hours, enjoy a hot dog and some popcorn and root for a Captains victory without breaking the bank.
