Holden Forests & Gardens is inviting the public to experience how science and stewardship are shaping the future of Ohio’s forests through its Working Woods Hub, a regional initiative helping private landowners manage, restore, and care for their woods sustainably.

The celebration marks one year of the Working Woods Hub, and features a public open house from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 15 at the Holden Arboretum in Kirtland.

The free, family-friendly event will allow visitors to explore the 67-acre Working Woods Learning Forest, take guided tours, visit interactive exhibits, and learn how science-based forestry supports healthy forests, wildlife habitat, and climate resilience, according to a news release.

Working Woods demonstrates the power of collaboration between science, community, and private landowners—helping to sustain the 85% of Ohio’s forests that are privately owned, the release stated.
